Twist of Science in Gods handy work of nature

Updated: Feb 7

Step into the enchanting world of nature and theology as we explore the evocative poetry of John J. Rosenbaum in his collection of six captivating poems: "Butterfly," "Whales," "Gentle Breeze," "A Blade of Grass," "Tuning of Rain," and "Flower Powered."

In these lyrical verses, Rosenbaum seamlessly intertwines his deep reverence for the natural world with thought-provoking insights drawn from the realms of science and spirituality.

For Rosenbaum, nature serves as a conduit for divine revelation, a canvas upon which God's handiwork is vividly displayed. Each poem offers a glimpse into the intricate beauty and profound mysteries of creation, inviting readers to pause, reflect, and marvel at the wonders that surround us.

As Rosenbaum shares, "Nature is very personal to me. I always feel that God is just out of sight and has many things that He wants to let me see and try to share with others. Some very unique aspects of science do get thrown in." Join us as we embark on a poetic journey that celebrates the harmonious union of science and theology, guided by the keen observations and heartfelt sentiments of John J. Rosenbaum.

Butterfly

by John J. Rosenbaum, 3-21-92

Watch caterpillar crawl along

With wings asleep and munching leaves

To build the form of beauty fly;

Feel clock tick on; cocoon it weaves.

Once dormant to our naked eyes,

Activity is more intense

To metamorphose the body form;

See little's changed despite sight sense.

Same million flowers call to it

Through deep provide sweet nectar hid

Dusts pollen genes for sacred trust;

Sense messenger life's calling bid.

Each flawless dancing butterfly

Of brilliant colors sharp displays;

Feel trillion secrets tantamount;

We're too of beauty's woven ways.

Judge not by covers that we see

Creative oceans pulse within,

Eternity's our hidden winds

Unfold real wings, be, Image Kin.

Whales

by John J. Rosenbaum, 12-1995

The heights and depths of our being

Merges with the foundations of the earth.

There is a stirring

And from that stirring grew these giants of life;

Whales!

We are of these giants

Though more immediate of His Image.

Of His Consciousness

Of His works.

Gentle Breeze

by John J. Rosenbaum, 9-24-2022

O gentle breeze, though cannot see you

But note you frolic in the leaves,

Twisting, turning, lifting up,

You show by action air one breathes.

Far greater breeze is breath of God

That moves in forms of all I see,

Charged joining of hid particles,

Thus, matter’s formed, mass entity.

He upgrades matter, adds in life,

Life revibrates in a special state,

Should state remove, something there dies,

What organized, now dissipate.

Same molecules can recycle,

None gain life resonance on their own,

Same atoms join in new life form,

Gain resonance, new vibrant tone.

No Doc sees life when operates,

Like leaves need wind, can check it’s there

There is no kernel, piece of life,

Protect the state that life forms share.

I learn from this what’s hid exists,

The best not seen with our earth eyes,

Stir inner eye, we’re part of it,

Embrace me breeze of earth and skies.

A Blade of Grass

by John J. Rosenbaum, 3-24-2017

A blade of grass that no one sees

Has organizing spark to grow

From soil, air and watered seed,

This winter hides beneath the snow.

It resonates with life its own

Matter, flowing, giving form,

Each God’s expression just for it,

It’s such as this we call the norm.

We take to flight, not fantasy,

On wings that God provides as means

To see his inner working art,

Thrust fullness bursting at the seams.

The quietness of life itself

Belies made-up, our biosphere

Intrinsic essence each unique,

Vibrates on DNA’s planned tier.

Such unfolding more than glimpse,

There’re interwoven frequencies

Harmonics give here each expressed

Now plain as day true intricacies.

Need not go down some rabbit hole,

Nor brain of genius, only eyes

That sees His hand maintain this state,

We’re here also to recognize.

Tuning of Rain

by John J. Rosenbaum, 4-4-2017, 1 am

I love to hear the falling rain

Between the drops I sense You there

Whisperings of Your Presence near

To all of life for which You care.

I’ve learned to like a rainy day

It gave work pause when on the farm,

A time to listen, rest the soul,

Could snuggle in and just stay warm.

In mesmerizing softness falls

On leaf and blade, felt drinking roots,

Woods, field and garden tuned to it;

Knew blossoms grew to seeds and fruit.

Prodigious yields of gentle rain,

Sunlight’s stored to foster life,

I see your gift of life for life,

Your rain too calms my inner strife.

Learned feel there’s resonance in rain

Harmonics same that power the soul

To touch far past mind consciousness,

You realign life’s sense of whole.

Now late in years still look for rain,

You call to me amidst the drops,

I stand in the doorway listening,

Tuned me to You yet though it stops.

Flower Powered

by John J. Rosenbaum, 5-15-2023

God loves to sing in many tones,

His colors are high frequencies,

To think from dirt He pulled them out,

They grasp the depth of intricacies.

Thus flowers are music of the ground,

Are but a glimpse, creations best,

If study just of how they formed,

Get vivid splash of God at rest.

There’s nothing that’s beyond His touch,

One single cell is miracle,

With gift of sight so I can see,

Tops us out on life’s cycle.

I touch same dirt for colors hid,

But never found bright colors there,

The ravenous beauty, quintillion flowers,

He pulls with ease, in awe we stare.

Such flawlessness in each replete,

Which chemical to make it so,

Or have they here been modified

So endless beauty we can know.

Or is it us that’s modified

We frequency resonate within,

So we see such our Source,

Colors, us tune, to dwell with Him.
