Happy Valentine's Day

by John J. Rosenbaum 2-14-2014

What is it that best fills my heart

My mind, my soul! my being?

The power that we are ourselves,

And with our dreams take wing.

Soul recognizing, fills me up;

You're never far away;

With effort's focused move, secure;

The ground beneath the bay.

To move out on life's ocean waves,

Let tempest stir new life

Beyond fear I hear soul called;

My self-owned gift, love, wife.

All my love,

I Hear Your Soul  - Valentine’s Day

by John J. Rosenbaum 2-14-2007

The other day I heard you say

“Love’s more than we can know”,

It made me pause, needn’t look for cause,

How large can a heart grow?

Those early days to feel love’s rays

Transfixed my weary soul,

Re-promised life and lessened strife,

Holds seeds to make us whole.

How deep love goes our dear God knows,

Of Him now all exists.

Because we love, we’re more thereof;

You localize Love’s mist.

To love, I say, is how we pray,

Your voice sings we belong,

You scarce need reach, my heart you teach,

You, Love, I hear life’s song.

Your resonance is more than words,

If full access’s my goal,

Where heart is true, sound carries through

Life rich, I hear your soul.

To My Valentine

by John J. Rosenbaum 2-14-2023

So blessed to have a special one

Is gift to held and holder too,

More life grows present in the heart,

Upgrades the heart with essence new.

Though one may be, it’s when we see

That life’s stepped up to fill one up,

There’s more to life with you my wife,

Mere hint of smile, you fill my cup.

Are kid-leftovers Valentines?

Or because of you my heart anew?

Your quiet look remembers love,

Both hearts hold hearts, twice me and you.
